I finally was able to see Kong: Skull Island this weekend. I'd been waiting for it to be in a general admission theater instead of a "Screening Room" theater. I'm a simple gal that way.
Holy Tom Hiddleston.

Am I right?!
When we first meet Conrad, he pulls some Jason Statham fighting action, amazing.
I'm not trying to spoil the flick for those who have yet to see it. But it was so good, better than I expected, and I was really excited to see it. My favorite part of any King Kong story is how they point out that the giant "monster" is not a monster at all. He's protecting his domain, and all the smaller beings that live there. Once humans show a little humanity and understanding, the dynamic of the movie starts to change. Instead being rivals, they start to work together.
And let's be honest, that's a lesson most people need to learn.
Kong: Skull Island is rated PG-13.. there is a lot of violence, and only one F-bomb, delivered perfectly by John C. Reilly (who, of course, provides the most glorious comedic relief). I won't lie, I was a little disappointed we didn't get a MFer from good ole Samuel L. Jackson.
It was a great watch, and didn't feel like the two hours run time it has.
And who would have thought that Loki was actually a ridiculously good looking man.
